Assignment description:
The Data & Analytics (D&A) team is in the process of migrating their current Data Warehouse to a Data Lakehouse. We need a BI Developer to support assessing the current workloads and data, then support the migration.
The current Data Warehouse was built 15 years ago for Financial Reporting. Since then, the scope of the application has expanded to providing reports to the whole organization with some operational processes supported as well. The Data Warehouse has been built using Microsoft technologies, both on-prem and Cloud based.
Migration work includes:
- Logically mapping the current Data Warehouse.
- Modelling the existing Data Warehouse and Data Marts.
- Migrating existing reporting solutions.
- Decommissioning the remaining reporting solutions
Technical platforms we work with include:
Microsoft BI Stack (Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS), Azure (Data Factory, Functions, DevOps, etc.), and tools like Visual Studio and Redgate.
To be successful in this role you have:
- An experienced BI Developer who has been working with the Azure technology stack for at least five years.
- Experience in technical roles within cloud and data environments.
- Hands-on experience with best practices in implementing data-driven solutions using Azure and big data technologies.
- Proficiency in data modelling, ETL processes, and data warehouse concepts.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
